Gilbert with one ear

Our adopted cat Gilbert was shown to have a Feline Fibrosarcoma on his left ear. The only thing for it was to have the ear removed - a pinnectomy. The procedure was reported to be a success, with a good margin from the cancer to the edge of the removed tissue. The photo below shows him soon after the operation. He really, really doesn't like protective collars.

Here he is about 5 weeks after the operation. You can see a few stitches still remaining (they should dissolve and fall off). He looks a bit suspicious of the camera, but the ear isn't causing him any problem at all.

Catching the sun. We now have to practise putting sun tan lotion on his ears and nose.
